SG Petch York and Abarth will be supporting a leading karting championship in 2011, to be known as the SG Petch Abarth 2011 Karting Open Championship. The karting challenge, will take place at Teesside Autodrome.
Launched back in July 2008, the award-winning Abarth brand has continued to find new fans in the form of enthusiast drivers wishing to express themselves through their choice of car.
“Abarth and SG Petch are delighted to be involved in this exciting series as it allows us to support grass roots racing – the heart of everything we do,” says Ivan Gibson, head of Abarth UK. “Teesside Autodrome is a wonderful venue which lends itself perfectly to karting and I’m sure we can expect a fine season of racing there.”
Abarth will supply the series with an Assetto Corse 500 race car in which the Championship winner will be offered an official track day test. The motorsport arm of Fiat Group Automobiles UK will also sponsor the end of season prize-giving dinner.
